STRUCTURAL PROCESSES:


1.  Pre-Construction Preparation

- Design and Engineering Plans: Review blueprints, structural plans, and welding specifications to understand material sizes, joint configurations, and load requirements.

- Site Preparation: Clear and level the site, mark out foundation locations, and verify anchor bolt placement.

- Material Inspection: Ensure all beams, plates, and other components meet quality standards and are free from defects like rust, cracks, or warping.

- Welding Equipment Setup: Test welding machines, tools, and safety gear to confirm they meet project requirements.

- Team Briefing: Provide welders and erectors with instructions on safety, material handling, and the order of operations.


2. Foundation and Base Plate Installation

- Install anchor bolts into the foundation to secure base plates.

- Position and level the base plates with shims or grout to ensure alignment with the structural design.

- Verify that the plates are properly secured to withstand loads during and after assembly.


3. Erection of Columns and Beams


Column Installation

- Erect vertical columns onto the base plates.

- Secure them temporarily with braces or guy wires.

- Perform tack welding or bolting to hold them in position.

Beam Placement

- Erect vertical columns onto the base plates.

- Secure them temporarily with braces or guy wires.

- Perform tack welding or bolting to hold them in position.


4. Sequential Welding and Bolting

- Perform welding or bolting for primary connections following the welding procedure specifications (WPS).

- Ensure welds meet the required standards (e.g., fillet or groove welds).

- Use non-destructive testing (NDT) methods (e.g., ultrasonic or radiographic tests) to inspect critical welds for defects.

- Continuously check alignment and adjust if necessary before moving to the next level.


5. Progressive Build-Up

- Repeat the process floor by floor or section by section:

- Erect the next set of columns and beams.

- Weld or bolt connections securely.

- Add secondary components like bracings, trusses, or joists for structural stability.


6.  Integration of Additional Elements

- Weld or install secondary elements such as handrails, platforms, and decking.

- Apply additional finishes like paint or coatings to protect against corrosion or wear.


7. Final Inspection and Quality Control

- Inspect all welds, bolts, and connections for compliance with engineering and safety standards.

- Verify structural alignment, leveling, and stability.

- Perform load testing where necessary to ensure the structure can bear its intended weight.
